This weekend, the best youth flag football players in the world will take the field for the 2026 NFL FLAG Championships in Westfield, Indiana. More than 350 girls' and boys' teams from across the United States and around the world will compete over four days, making it the largest NFL FLAG Championship event ever. Games will be broadcast nationally on ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, NFL Network, Disney platforms, and NFL+, giving young athletes the opportunity to watch the sport at its highest level.
For football families, this is more than just another tournament.
It's a glimpse into the future of one of the fastest-growing sports in the world.

Flag Football Has Never Been Bigger
Just a few years ago, flag football was viewed by many as simply an introduction to tackle football.
Today, it's become a sport in its own right.
Participation continues to grow across boys' and girls' divisions, more schools are adding flag football programs, and the sport is preparing to make its Olympic debut at the 2028 Los Angeles Games. The NFL continues to invest heavily in youth flag football, helping create opportunities for young athletes to compete at the highest levels.
Watching the NFL FLAG Championships, you'll notice something immediately:
These athletes are incredibly skilled.
Elite speed.
Quick decision-making.
Precise route running.
Great teamwork.
Outstanding sportsmanship.
It's exactly why flag football has become such an exciting game to play and watch.
Why We're Excited at Little Legends
At Little Legends Football, we'll definitely be tuning in this weekend.
Not just because we love football—but because these young athletes represent everything we believe in.
Confidence.
Hard work.
Preparation.
Teamwork.
Having fun while competing.
Watching athletes their own age perform at this level is incredibly motivating for young players. It reminds them what's possible through consistent practice and a love for the game.
The LTYA NFL Flag Football Season Is Almost Here
Here in the Lake Travis area, we don't have to wait much longer.
The LTYA NFL FLAG season kicks off in just a few weeks, and we couldn't be more excited to watch another generation of local athletes take the field.
Whether your child is playing flag football for the first time or returning for another season, now is the perfect time to prepare.
Build Confidence Before Week 1
One thing we've learned from coaching youth athletes is that confidence starts long before opening day.
Athletes who spend a little time preparing before the season often arrive feeling more comfortable, more confident, and ready to contribute from the very first game.
That's exactly why we offer our weekly:
Our small-group sessions focus on the skills that translate directly to game day:
First-step quickness
Route running
Throwing mechanics
Footwork
Change of direction
Athletic confidence
Every session is intentionally limited in size so every athlete gets more coaching, more repetitions, and more opportunities to improve.
Let's Celebrate the Growth of the Game
This weekend, take some time to watch the NFL FLAG Championships with your child.
Talk about the effort, teamwork, and sportsmanship you see on the field.
You might even recognize a few drills that look familiar!
Then, as the excitement builds toward another fantastic LTYA Flag Football season, let your young athlete start preparing now.
Because every great season begins with confidence.
And confidence is built one rep at a time.
We can't wait to cheer on the future of flag football this weekend—and we can't wait to see our Lake Travis athletes on the field this fall. 🏈
