Why We Love Flag Football": Hearing It Straight From the Girls

There’s something special about hearing young athletes talk about the game in their own words.

After a recent flag football game, a group of girls were asked one simple question by Lake Travis Youth Association (LTYA):

“What do you like most about flag football?”

One by one, they took a couple seconds to think and then shared their answers. Some talked about scoring touchdowns. Some talked about being with their teammates. Some loved running, pulling flags, making plays, and just having fun.

And honestly, that’s what makes flag football so special.

At this age, sports are about so much more than wins and losses. They’re about confidence. Teamwork. Learning how to compete. Making friends. Trying something new. Getting better every week. And most importantly, having fun while doing it.

Watching these girls light up while talking about the game is exactly why we’re so excited for the upcoming season. Flag football continues to grow, and it’s awesome to see more young athletes getting the chance to play, compete, and fall in love with the game.

For parents, this is a great reminder that football doesn’t have to be intimidating. Flag football gives kids a fun, fast-paced, and safe way to learn the fundamentals of the game while building athletic skills they can carry into any sport.

The upcoming season is right around the corner, and moments like this remind us why we can’t wait to get back on the field.

More confidence. More teamwork. More fun.

That’s what flag football is all about.
